Looting broke out again overnight on Friday in the Missouri town where unarmed teen Michael Brown was shot and killed by a police officer last Saturday. Missouri State Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson confirmed the looting of a convenience store where police say Brown was suspected of stealing cigars. Heroically, some protesters formed lines to guard local businesses from the looters. Rocks and other objects were thrown at police, three of whom were injured. “There were 300 protesters last night, but the protesters went home and the looters came out,” Johnson said. Earlier on Friday, Ferguson police chief Thomas Jackson revealed the identity of the officer who shot Brown as Darren Wilson, a four-year veteran of the force. However, later on Friday, Jackson added that Wilson did not know about the convenience store robbery.
