A three-year veteran correspondent for the Kabul bureau of the New York Times was interrogated and banned from leaving the country on Tuesday. Matthew Rosenberg published a story earlier that day about Afghan officials discussing forming an interim government. Rosenberg was called into the attorney general's office for an "informal chat," was asked to identify his anonymous sources, and then was issued a travel ban from leaving the country "until this issue over this article is resolved."
