A jury acquitted a Texas father in the shooting death of a drunk driver who ran into his sons. David Barajas of Alvin, Texas was accused of murdering 20-year-old Jose Banda, who ran his car into Barajas' two young sons in 2012 while driving drunk. Banda's blood alcohol level was over twice the legal limit. Prosecutors argued that Barajas went home and shot Banda with his pistol after the driver hit his 12 and 11-year-old sons. However, they failed to produce a weapon specifically linked to the killing or any witnesses. "I thank God. This has been hard on me and my family," said Barajas outside the court room. "A lot of weight's been lifted off my back.”
