Joan Rivers is in stable condition and is “resting comfortably” after being rushed to a New York City hospital on Thursday, according to daughter Melissa. “I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother. She is resting comfortably and is with our family," said Melissa Rivers in a statement. The 81-year-old comedienne was rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital after authorites were called to a clinic about a woman who stopped breathing during outpatient surgery. According to hospital sources, Rivers was in critical condition when she arrived but in stable condition. In July, she told The Daily Beast she thinks about dying. "Constantly. In your 80s, you’d be foolish not to think about that."
