Ray McDonald of the San Francisco 49ers has been arrested for domestic violence, days after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced a new league policy for punishing such abuse. NBC Bay Area reporter Damian Trujillo tweeted that the San Jose Police Department has confirmed McDonald's arrest. Trujillo also tweeted that McDonald's alleged victim is pregnant. Just a few days ago, Goodell said the NFL would enforce much stronger punishment for players who commit domestic abuse. First-time offenders will automatically be suspended form six games, and repeat-offenders will be suspended indefinitely. The new policy comes in response to to criticism over the NFL's response to the Ray Rice case.
