A bus driver died after she pulled a 10-year-old girl from the path of a runaway bus in Akron, Ohio. The driver, later identified as Laura Zborowski, 51, saved the girl during a bus evacuation drill at Middlebury Academy, a charter school perched atop a hill. She and students were practicing emergency procedures as the bus pulled up at the school. About 40 students got off the bus through the main side door and a back exit when the vehicle started rolling backward. The 10-year-old girl jumped off and Zborowski pulled her onto the sidewalk, police said. The bus then rolled over the driver and down the hill. Zborowski died at Akron City Hospital. The girl was not injured. Authorities are investigating the incident.
