Omar Gonzalez, the Iraq War veteran who scaled a fence and made it into the White House, posed no threat to anyone and needs counseling rather than prosecution, his family members say. Gonzalez, 42, was stopped by Secret Service agents after entering the White House on Friday night. Relatives told the AP that Gonzalez suffers from post traumatic stress disorder and needs treatment. His sister said he is a kind, gentle man scarred by war. Gonzalez enlisted in the Army in 1997, served until 2003, and then re-enlisted in 2005 and retired in 2012, having served in Iraq from October 2006 to January 2008, the Army said. He was arrested Friday, and is expected to face a charge of of unlawfully entering a restricted building or grounds while carrying a deadly or dangerous weapon. He had a folding knife. The Secret Service is investigating the incident and its director has ordered increased surveillance and more officer patrols at the White House.
