The attorney representing Florida State University quarterback Jameis Winston claims in a letter to the school that the woman claiming he raped her asked for hush money. The alleged victim's lawyer supposedly told Winston's attorney: "If we settle, you will never hear from my client or me again—in the press or anywhere." Winston's attorney also told FSU that his client "will cooperate with the Investigation. He looks forward to clearing his name. But Mr. Winston will not walk into a honey trap. The Investigation must be a legitimate investigation." Back in 2013, after a three-week investigation, the Florida state attorney said he would not file criminal charges against Winston due to lack of evidence.
