Spanish nurse Teresa Romero tested negative for the Ebola virus, her family told Spanish media on Sunday. Romero who was the first person to contract Ebola outside of West Africa during the current outbreak. Doctors stress that Romero will need a negative result on a second test for Ebola to confirm she is clear of the virus. Romero, 44, contracted the virus after she treated two patients with Ebola while working in a Madrid hospital. Romero's diagnosis sparked fears that Ebola could spread throughout Europe. The test result gives hope that Romero may be in the clear, but West Africa is still being ravaged by the Ebola outbreak. Over 4,500 people have died across the region from the virus.
