Known for pushing boundaries throughout his career, comedian Chris Rock strengthened that reputation on Saturday Night Live. During his opening monologue, Rock cracked jokes about the Boston Marathon bombing as well as 9/11. "That was probably the most frightening, sadistic terrorist attack ever," Rock said, while talking about the 26-mile run. "Their knees are hurting, their feet are killing them. ... You've been training for a year, you finally get to the finish line, and somebody screams: 'Run!'" Rock then turned to New York City, and talked about the new Freedom Tower, which sits on the site where the Twin Towers once stood. They should change the name from the Freedom Tower to the 'Never Going in There' Tower. Because I'm never going in there. There is no circumstance that will ever get me in that building. Are you kidding me?" Rock did clarify that he wasn’t “joking about 9/11.” He also said about the Freedom Tower, "Who's the corporate sponsor, Target?" It was Rock's first time hosting the show since he was fired in 1993.
