After a blockbuster report by Rolling Stone into the pattern of sexual assault at fraternities at UVA and alleged cover up by the school’s administration, the university’s president has suspended the school’s fraternities until January 9,2015. "The wrongs described in Rolling Stone are appalling and have caused all of us to reexamine our responsibility to this community. Rape is an abhorrent crime that has no place in the world, let alone on the campuses and grounds of our nation’s colleges and universities," President Teresa A. Sullivan said in a letter to alumni. She also said she has asked the Charlottesville Police Department to investigate the alleged brutal assault by seven men on a freshman girl back in 2012 that is detailed in the article.
