Drug seizures amounting to more than a ton of cocaine have gone unreported in the Dominican Republic, which led a court on Tuesday to order the arrest of three prosecutors and 21 police officers involved. One of those is the former director of an anti-narcotics unit. “In one way or another, they became drug traffickers,” said General Prosecutor Francisco Dominguez. “This type of situation is unacceptable.” The arrests are the result of an investigation that began in December when a police chief noticed drugs missing.
