The coach of the New England Patriots says he did not know there was an issue with the air pressure in the footballs his team used in Sunday’s AFC Championship game until Monday. Bill Belichick told a press conference he only found out the league was investigating the Patriots on Monday and does not know how the balls became underinflated in a scandal now known as Deflategate. “To me, the footballs are approved by the league and game officials pregame, and we play with what’s out there. And that’s the only way I have ever thought about that,” he said. Tom Brady will speak at 4 p.m. ET.
