A group of eight Democratic and Republican senators will introduce a bill to allow Americans to vacation in Cuba. The Freedom to Travel to Cuba Act of 2015 would end the last restriction on American travel, which has been in place for more than 50 years. Republican Mark Sanford and Democrat Jim McGovern are set to introduce a companion bill in the House next week. President Obama has initiated major efforts to “normalize” relations with Cuba, though Raul Castro recently made the uncomfortable request for the U.S. to return Guantanamo Bay to Cuba.
