The Russia rights council said Wednesday that former Chechen police officer Zaur Dadayev may have been tortured before he confessed to taking part in the murder of Russian opposition activist Boris Nemtsov. “There are reasons that lead us to believe Zaur Dadayev confessed under torture,” Andrei Babushkin told AFP. Babushkin said he had seen “numerous wounds” on Dadayev’s body while visiting him Tuesday.
