Afghanistan’s top criminal investigator announced on Sunday that the woman killed by a mob in front of police in Kabul last week for allegedly burning the Quran was innocent. The 27-year-old woman, Farkhunda, was beaten with sticks and set on fire by a crowd of men and video taken by phones show police doing absolutely nothing. "I couldn’t find any evidence to say Farkhunda burnt the Holy Koran," General Mohammad Zahir told reporters at her funeral on Sunday. "Farkhunda was totally innocent." According to Zahir, 13 people, including eight police officers have been arrested.
