Authorities said Wednesday that a 29-year-old Northern California woman was not kidnapped for ransom as her boyfriend reported, just hours after she was discovered 400 miles away. Vallejo Police Lt. Kenny Park said there was no evidence that Denise Huskins was taken by a stranger or abducted at all. “Given the facts that have been presented thus far, this event appears to be an orchestrated event and not a kidnapping,” he said in a statement. Huskins’ boyfriend, Aaron Quinn, reported she was forcibly taken early Monday by an assailant demanding $8,500. Police are now investigating whether the couple committed any criminal acts in the incident. Park said authorities have been unable to get in contact with Huskins or her family members.
