Officials said a passenger bus struck a landmine in eastern Ukraine Wednesday, killing at least four people and injuring 19 others. The bus was attempting to bypass a checkpoint near Artemivsk, a government-controlled town in the Donetsk region, and instead took a dirt road while en route to the rebel-held city of Horlivka, according to Vyacheslav Abroskin, the regional head of Ukraine's interior ministry. Landmines are scattered throughout the region after months of violent clashes between government troops and pro-Russian rebels. More than 6,000 people have died since fighting first broke out last year.
