A Turkish court ruling banned Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube on Monday, because the networks contained images of a prosecutor slain by left-wing terrorists last week. The ban on Facebook was reportedly lifted when it began complying with the order, but bans remain on the other networks, as well as dozens of news sites with the images. It’s part of a larger crackdown on the free press, which included denying press conference access to outlets that ran the photos and a criminal investigation into seven Turkish papers.
