A Texas federal judge on Tuesday denied the Justice Department’s request to lift a temporary hold on President Obama’s executive actions on immigration. U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen refused the request after he issued a preliminary injunction Feb. 16. The actions are aimed at protecting millions of immigrants from deportation by easing policies. The Justice Department has taken its request to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, which is scheduled to hear arguments April 17.
