Mad Men star Jon Hamm was accused in a brutal college hazing in 1990 at the University of Texas that resulted in the fraternity chapter permanently disbanding, according to court and school records revealed Thursday. There had not previously been a public connection to Hamm, but according to a lawsuit filed by a Sigma Nu pledge, Hamm set his jeans on fire, shoved his face in dirt, and hit him with a paddle. Criminal records show the Emmy-nominated actor was charged with hazing and received deferred adjudication, which means he had to complete probation but was never convicted. An assault charge was dismissed and four other frat members were also charged.
