A University of Florida fraternity is under investigation after its members allegedly spat on a gathering of disabled veterans on a beach. University president Kent Fuchs informed the Warrior Beach Retreat of administration's involvement in an email, after outcry over the conduct of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. "They actually spit on me and my service dog as well, and that's just so disrespectful and it hurts," said Nicholas Connole, a veteran. "I come and I feel honored and I feel safe and that I belong, but now I feel like I'm defending myself." ZBT has reportedly suspended its operations on campus, and is cooperating with the university investigation.
