A heroic high-school teacher tackled a gunman Monday morning in Washington state. North Thurston High School senior Teia Patane tells The Daily Beast that a male with a gun walked into the school, paused for a second, and fired a round into the air. (The shooter was later confirmed to be a student.) A government and civics teacher named Brady Olson was sitting nearby and and tackled the shooter before walking back to his classroom—visibly shaken up, according to Patane, who tried to flee on crutches. The suspect is now in custody at the Lacey Police Department. No one was injured.
