Police arrested 63 protesters in New York City on Wednesday during a march calling for justice for Freddie Gray, the Baltimore man who died of spinal injuries he sustained while in police custody. About 1,000 people descended on Union Sqaure for a rally before continuing to move through Manhattan, blocking traffic and shutting down streets. The protest led to several small clashes with police. Meanwhile, protests in Baltimore remained peaceful. A similar protest in Denver turned violent when police were forced to use pepper spray on a crowd of demonstrators. Authorities arrested at least five of around 100 protesters gathering to protesting the death of Gray.
