The New York woman who sent Robert Durst $117,000 to help with legal troubles may be more than just a friend. According to the FBI, the duo may be “romantically linked”—a charge the woman, Susan Giordano, denies. “We were just good friends. We still are,” she told The New Orleans Advocate. “I don’t know where they got that. We’ve been friends for decades.” Giordano insists the money was not hers and she sent it at his request. She also says that Durst’s arrest wasn’t the reason for her attempt to cancel the package’s delivery—rather, she simply thought he was coming back up to New York.
