Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson announced Tuesday that a retired corrections officer who fatally shot a man in a Brooklyn subway station altercation in March will not face charges. “While the death of this young man was indeed tragic, we cannot prove any charge of homicide beyond a reasonable doubt,” he said. William Grooms, 69, was licensed to carry a gun and killed Gilbert Drogheo after Drogheo allegedly attacked him. A video of the incident shows someone saying “Don’t make me shoot you” before the shots were fired.
