Lawyer: Zimmerman Waved Gun During Fight

George Zimmerman, who was involved in a reported road-rage altercation Monday that ended with shots being fired into his car, had a legally registered gun in his truck, his lawyer said. The lawyer for the Orlando man suspected of shooting into Zimmerman’s car alleges that his client, Matthew Apperson, fired in self-defense after Zimmerman waved a gun at him. “By every fact we have uncovered through the investigation, Apperson acted in self-defense,” lawyer Mark Nejame told the New York Daily News. “He was in fear of George Zimmerman.” Zimmerman’s lawyer acknowledged the gun in the car, but denies his client waved it at Apperson.
