The Obama Foundation officially announced Tuesday morning that Barack Obama’s presidential library will call Chicago home. It is not clear, however, where the Obamas will be heading after the White House. The offices of the Barack Obama Foundation, currently based in Chicago, will be relocated to New York. Columbia University has offered the president land in West Harlem. White House officials declined to comment on where the family was planning to live. Kwame Raoul, the Democrat who now holds Obama’s old state senate seat, told Bloomberg that the location of the library was more important than where the Obamas live. “Given that they are going to be ex-president and ex-first lady, where their so-called permanent home is seems less relevant,” he said.
