For the first time since record-keeping began in 1945, typhoon conditions have struck Guam in May, an unusually early time of year. According to NOAA’s Historical Hurricane Tracks, Tropical Storm Dolphin is the first to threaten to bring a typhoon to the U.S. territory between February and June since at least 1945, when record-keeping began.
