The Chicago Bears have released defensive tackle Ray McDonald after he was arrested Monday on misdemeanor domestic-violence and child endangerment-charges in Santa Clara, California. Authorities responded to a call at McDonald’s home, where they had learned the 30-year-old had “physically assaulted the victim while she was holding a baby,” according to the police report. McDonald was released by the San Francisco 49ers in December after he was named as a suspect in a prior investigation for sexual assault. He was also arrested in August 2014 on felony domestic-violence charges. McDonald inked a one-year, $1.5 million deal with the Bears, but none of the money was guaranteed.
