A public viewing for Rev. Clementa Pinckney, the South Carolina state senator who was one of nine killed last week inside a Charleston church, is taking place inside the state capitol’s rotunda. A horse-drawn caisson carried Pinckney’s body from a funeral home to the statehouse, where he will lie in state. Open-casket viewing began at 1 p.m. and will end end at 5 p.m. President Obama, Michelle Obama, and Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Pinckney’s funeral on Friday. The president is expected to deliver the eulogy.
