Two people in a small Cessna plane were killed in a mid-air collision with an F-16 fighter jet near Charleston, South Carolina, at around 11 a.m. Tuesday. The jet's pilot, identified as Major Aaron Johnson of the 20th Fighter Wing from the Shaw Air Force Base, ejected safely before the crash. In a statement, Shaw Air Force Base said, "Our thoughts are with the friends and family of anyone aboard the civilian aircraft." Investigators are working to identify the cause of the crash.
