The parents of Kathryn Steinle, a young woman who was shot and killed in San Francisco by a Mexican ex-convict this month, told Bill O’Reilly on Fox News that federal and local authorities “let us down.” O’Reilly is collecting signatures for Kate’s Law, a move for a measure that says, in part, “whereby undocumented aliens who are deported and return to the United States would receive a mandatory five-year sentence in a federal penitentiary upon conviction.” Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, the man arrested for killing Steinle, had been deported from the U.S. five times and had an additional seven felony convictions. Sanchez admits he shot Steinle, but says it was an accident.
