China claims a group of 20 foreign tourists arrested in the country’s north were watching terrorist videos in their hotel. The visitors from Britain, South Africa, and India were on a 47-day tour with the religiously inspired Gift of the Givers Foundation, a Sufi charity from South African. Eleven of them were later released, while the remaining nine are still being held and have not been charged with any crime. “These individuals have no terror links, no criminal record in their country,” a spokesperson for the Gift of the Givers foundation said. “The families thank the South African government for their unwavering support and call upon the Chinese government to release the detainees immediately.”
