Rolling Stone Managing Editor Will Dana announced Wednesday he would leave the embattled magazine in August, just four months after an article about an alleged University of Virginia gang rape was retracted. Dana said he is not leaving for another job and his successor has yet to be named. “After 19 years at Rolling Stone, I have decided that it is time to move on,” Dana said in a statement. The news comes the same day three UVA graduates filed a lawsuit against the magazine, one of its journalists, and publisher Wenner Media for alleged defamation and inflicting emotional distress. The three men were all members of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, which was at the center of the now-debunked article.
