Yvonne Craig, best remembered for her role as the first ever onscreen Batgirl on the 1960s ABC series Batman, has died, her nephew said Tuesday. She was 78. Christopher Carson announced she had died from breast cancer that had metastasized to her liver. Craig, who briefly dated Elvis Presley, joined Batman in its third season and final season as Batgirl and librarian Barbara Gordan. She also starred opposite Presley in 1963’s It Happened at the World’s Fair and Kissin’ Cousins in 1964. She also voiced the character of Grandma in Nickelodeon’s 2009 cartoon series Olivia. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth.
