At least 85 people were killed and 100 injured Saturday at a restaurant in India when a cooking gas explosion triggered a blast of construction detonators, which were stored illegally in a nearby building. The explosion came around breakfast time when the restaurant was crowded with diners in the town of Petlawad. Bystanders outside the restaurant were caught in the second explosion as the restaurant’s roof caved in and buried scores of people. “This ia tragic incident, which has shook me. The causes of the incident will be investigated,” Madhya Pradesh’s chief minister Shivraj Singh CHouhan told local TV news stations.
