A former peanut company executive was sentenced to 28 years in prison Monday for a deadly salmonella outbreak. The outbreak happened between 2008 and 2009 and killed nine people while sickening hundreds. Former Peanut Corp. of America owner Stewart Parnell was convicted of knowingly allowing the contaminated peanut butter to be shipped and faking the results of lab tests that were used to find the salmonella.
