The father of a teen who fatally shot four of his friends and himself last year was found guilty of illegal possession of firearms, including the one his son used in the shooting. The U.S. District Court of Seattle on Tuesday convicted Raymond Fryberg of six counts of unlawful possession of a firearm. Fryberg was the subject of a 2002 domestic-violence protection order that barred him from owning firearms. Prosecutors said Fryberg lied on federal forms when he purchased the guns, but the defendant’s lawyers argued he was never served with a protection order and wasn’t aware he couldn’t own firearms. His son Jaylen used one of those guns to shoot and kill four classmates and then himself at Marysville-Pilchuk High School last October.
