The U.S. military used a Christian group to spy on North Korea, according to an investigation by The Intercept. Lt. Gen. William “Jerry” Boykin used the Humanitarian International Services Group to test-ship Bibles to North Korea in a clothing aid package—to see if the same smuggling route could later be used for Pentagon spy equipment. Unwitting NGO employees were then used to transport the equipment around the country.
