A publisher was killed and three others wounded in two separate attacks on Bangladeshi publishing houses Saturday. The publisher was identified as Faisal Arefin Deepan of the Jagriti Prokashoni publishing house. Ahmed Rahim Tutul, another publisher who was a close friend of slain atheist blogger Avjit Roy, is in critical condition. Two writers were also shot and stabbed in the attacks. The attacks come in the same year that four atheist bloggers have been attacked and killed by radical Islamists. ISIS has also claimed responsibility for a bombing targeting Shiite Muslims in Bangladesh earlier this month and the deaths of an Italian aid worker and a Japanese agricultural worker.
