Chris Stapleton, who was the lead singer of the bluegrass band The SteelDrivers, took home best male vocalist, new artist, and album of the year for Traveller. Miranda Lambert tearfully accepted best female vocalist of the year, earning her sixth consecutive win in the category. “I appreciate it. I needed a bright spot this year,” she said onstage, just hours after ex-husband Blake Shelton and his fellow Voice mentor Gwen Stefani confirmed they were dating. Luke Bryan also beat out Lambert and others for best entertainer of the year.
