The Mexican Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday that individuals should be able to grow and distribute marijuana for personal use. The ruling applies only to an individual marijuana club that brought the suit, and is not related to the overall drug laws in Mexico. It is, however, considered a first step in any future attempts at legalization. A 2011 survey estimated that only two percent of Mexicans had smoked marijuana in the last year.
