During an appearance on Boston’s WKRO radio Monday, Sen. Rand Paul suggested ISIS would have supported an immigration bill co-written by his Republican opponent Marco Rubio.
“What ISIS really would have supported was Rubio’s ‘Gang of Eight’ bill,” Paul said during the program, specifically targeting his Senate colleague further by referring to Rubio as “the weakest candidate on national defense.” Paul is on a New Hampshire swing ahead of next month’s Republican presidential primary and is trying to bump up his poll numbers, which have hovered around 4 percent in the state.
He also took aim at Hillary Clinton for saying that all women should be believed in instances of alleged sexual assaults. “Can she have it both ways?” Paul asked, citing Clinton’s dismissal of past allegations against her husband. “I don’t think it’s Hillary Clinton’s fault that her husband has committed serial infidelities,” he added.
