An Al-Qaeda attack on a Burkina Faso hotel has ended, leaving at least 23 people dead, according to CNN. On Friday as many as six gunmen laid siege to the Splendid Hotel in Ouagadougou and took hostages. But by early Saturday security forces entered the hotel and freed 126 hostages. Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb has claimed responsibility. The French Foreign Ministry said that as many as 27 people died. President Francois Hollande said that at least one of the dead was a French national.
