Donald Trump said Tuesday that skipping the last Republican debate may have cost him first place in the Iowa caucuses. “That could’ve been with the debate,” Trump said in Milford, New Hampshire, where former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown endorsed him. “I think some people were disappointed that I didn’t go into the debate.” But the national Republican frontrunner said he wouldn’t have changed a thing if he had to do it again, insisting that he raised $6 million for veterans’ charities. Trump didn’t participate in last Thursday’s Fox News debate due to a dispute with the TV channel. Sen. Ted Cruz prevailed with roughly 28 percent of the vote, Trump brought in 24 percent, and Sen. Marco Rubio surged into third place with just 2,000 votes behind the business mogul.
