The family of an Oregon occupier who died in a confrontation with authorities near the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge last week is accusing the FBI and local police of covering up the circumstances around the incident. Relatives of Robert “LaVoy” Finicum, who was shot and killed by law enforcement during the altercation, have said the shooting was “unjustified” and that FBI and state police were “seeking to manipulate and mislead the media” in the aftermath. The FBI did not respond, except to point to a video of the melee that has been released. Finicum’s family disputes that he was reaching for or holding his gun at the time he was shot dead by police.
