The U.S. issued sanctions against three ISIS leaders who it says are critical to the organization’s oil revenue and recruitment of foreign fighters, in an effort to cut off the terrorist group’s cash flow. The Treasury Department said Thursday it was targeting top Syria oil official Faysal al-Zahrani; Husayn Juaythini, who helped establish ISIS in Gaza; and recruiter and senior religious adviser Turki al-Binali. The sanctions freeze any of the men’s assets or property and bar them from any financial dealings with Americans.
