President Barack Obama asked legislators Tuesday to help him close the military detention center at Guantanamo Bay. “This is about closing a chapter in our history,” he said. “It reflects the lessons that we’ve learned since 9/11, lessons that need to guide our nation going forward.” Obama’s plans suggest that as many as 60 Gitmo prisoners move to the U.S. for trial or detention.
