The U.S. government is preparing to publicly pin a 2013 cyber attack against a New York dam on a Iranian hackers, CNN reported Thursday. The intrusion against the Bowman Avenue Dam, 30 miles north of New York City, while minor, opened Obama administration eyes to vulnerabilities in the nation's infrastructure. After an investigation, the Justice Department determined that the breach was carried out by members of the Iranian government. Publicly blaming the Middle Eastern state would be part of the Obama strategy of "naming and shaming" perpetrators of cyber attacks.
